Welcome to the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering
Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, established in 1976-77, with a wide range of research and educational activities, has currently 24 full-time faculty members across five educational departments, namely “Artificial Intelligence and Robotics”, “Computer Architecture”, “Computer Networks and Security”, “Information Technology”, and “Software and Information Systems”. According to the 2015-2016 records, a total number of 844 full-time students, including 427 undergraduate, 338 master and 79 Ph.D. students are registered in this faculty. The admitted students will pursue their studies in three B.Sc. programs of “Information Technology”, “Computer Software Engineering” and “Computer Hardware Engineering”, four M.Sc. programs of “Computer Software Engineering”, “Computer System Architecture”, “Information Technology – Enterprise Architecture” and “Artificial Intelligence”, as well as four Ph.D. programs of “Computer Software Engineering”, “Computer System Architecture”, “Information Technology – Enterprise Architecture” and “Artificial Intelligence”.
The faculty of Computer Science and Engineering has more than 11 educational laboratories, including "Computing", "Electrical Circuits", "Logical Circuits", "Digital Electronics", "Computer Architecture", "Microprocessor", "Computer Networking", "Software Engineering", and "Operating Systems".
The faculty has more than 12 research laboratories for postgraduate projects, namely; “Natural Language Processing”, “Image Processing and Distributed Systems”, “Software Testing and Verification”, “Automated Software Engineering Research (ASER)”, “Adaptive and Self Star Systems”, “Cyber-Physical Systems”, “High Performance Computing”, “Service-oriented Architecture”, “Pervasive Computing Systems”, “Computer Arithmetic”, “Nanotechnology and Quantum Computing”, “eSense”, “Security and Wireless Networks”, and “VLSI Design and Automation”.
